On September 13th, 2018 Digital Ocean proudly released a statement announcing that they had found their name in the Forbes Cloud 100 List for the third consecutive year in a row.
The Forbes Cloud 100 List is the list of the top 100 Cloud Service providers worldwide as compiled by Forbes.
Digital Ocean is a Cloud Platform founded in 2012 which offers great amounts to ease to make scalable, manageable and deployable applications.
Headquartered in New York, Digital Ocean achieves this with the help of 3.5 million developers working in 12 data centers across the globe by removing infrastructure friction and providing predictability.
Mark Templeton, CEO of Digital Ocean had this to say,
At DigitalOcean our focus has always been on providing the best possible cloud experience for developers and their teams through the power of simplicity. Over the past year, we’ve continued to deliver on this promise with new networking and storage features that enable global scale and always-on availability.
We’re honoured to be recognized by Forbes for the third year and see it as a testament to all of our hard work and love for the developer community.
The top 100 companies are selected through a rigorous selection process headed by the Bessemer Venture Partners.
The Forbes Cloud 100 Judging Panel, which includes CEOs from many Cloud Companies around the world, then ranks them upon various factors such as Market Leadership, Estimated Valuation, Operating Metrics, and People and Culture.
Alex Konrad, Forbes editor of The Cloud 100 said
I am consistently impressed by the calibre of companies honoured on the Cloud 100 list. It is an exciting time to a be a cloud company and founder.
Since its inception six years ago, DigitalOcean has now grown to a $200 million revenue with a workforce that is more than 3.5 million developers strong.
That itself is a strong feat to accomplish. Along with its other factors, they have successfully made it to the Forbes 2018 Cloud 100 list for the third time in a row.
